The Resource Efficiency Manager provides analysis of the garrison energy use and is critical to the garrison Energy Program and to meeting the commanders Strategic Goals for energy consumption. The position will also analyze other aspects of DPW operations such as water consumption and development of a Water Conservation Plan.  This position located on Camp Walker in Daegu City Korea resides within the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) reporting to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Division Chief.  The DPW manages all the real property assets including the maintenance and repair of facilities.  The O&M Division, the largest within DPW with over 200 employees, Department of the Army Civilians, Korean Service Corps and Korean Nationals, performs the bulk of the repair and maintenance with a limited portion contracted to local vendors.

United States Army Garrison Daegu is headquartered at Camp Walker in the City of Daegu Korea and manages the installation operations support functions.  The garrison is responsible for managing all U.S. Army installations within the Area IV geographic region, which covers the lower third of the Korean peninsula stretching from Daejon to Busan.  It also provides support to sister services in Area IV, including those stationed at Fleet Activities Chinhae (U.S. Navy) in Jinhae, Gwangju Air Base (U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force on a ROK Air Force installation) in Gwangju, and Camp Mujuk (U.S. Marine Corps) in Pohang.  Area IV is the largest of the U.S. Army's four geographic regions in the ROK, covering about 10,000 square miles.

Seoul is one of the largest cities in the world with all of the amenities you would expect from any metropolis.  Located in the center of Asia, Korea has a great mix of historic and cultural sites to explore and traveling to other countries is very convenient. Working in Daegu City, the foutrth largest city in Korea, is an exciting fast paced environment supporting the Reception, Staging, On-ward Movement and Integration (RSOI) of US Forces onto the Korean Peninsula.
