  • 2007-2008 Seasonal Flu Shots: Flu shots are available to NASA civil service employees on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last. Check the Web link above for schedule and location.   • Cyclical Painting at Headquarters: Cyclical painting at HQ will continue through December 2007. Painting will occur during non-business hours from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. All areas will be properly ventilated to reduce paint odors. Contact Malicha Day at 358-0206 with questions.

  • FEHB Open Season Health Fair: Open Season for Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) begins November 12 and ends December 10, 2007. Representatives from area FEHB health insurance carriers will be available to answer your questions at the FEHB Health Fair scheduled for Thursday, November 8, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., in the West Lobby.   • New NASA Badge Has Arrived: The next phase in bringing NASA in compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) has begun.. All employees and contractors who currently possess a OneNASA Badge will be issued a new badge. All new badge recipients will receive notification via e-mail on how to make appointments to receive the badge. For more information, contact Ray Patten at 358-2371.   • Headquarters Honor Awards Ceremony: The HQ Honor Awards ceremony recognizes employees who made significant contributions to the Headquarters community. All employees are invited to attend the ceremony on Wednesday, November 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the Auditorium and the reception that follows in the West Lobby.   • Sensitive Information Awareness Protection Training: All NASA HQ employees are encouraged to attend this training in order to understand their responsibilities to protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This training addresses NASA and federal policies and the consequences for willful mishandling or wrongful disclosure of PII.   • Check In Check (CICO) Goes Live!: The new Headquarters Check-In Check-Out (CICO) system is now operational. CICO replaces the HQ ODIN New User Request System (HONURS), effective immediately.  To learn more about CICO, visit the CICO Web site link above.

  • Desktop Data Recovery Program: Desktop recovery service for all HQ Macintosh and Windows computers is intended for disaster recovery only and does not replace the need for routine manual backup of important files. In order for a successful backup to take place, you must close all applications, and either turn off your computer or restart your system prior to leaving for the day. You do not need to log in. Your computer must be left powered on and connected to the HQ-wired network. For more information, visit our FAQ's.

  • Cyclical Painting at Headquarters: Cyclical painting is scheduled to begin at HQ in June and will continue through December 2007. Painting will occur during non-business hours from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. All areas will be properly ventilated to reduce paint odors. Material Safety Data Sheets will be provided to NASA's Occupational Safety and Health Officer to ensure all paint products are safe for employees. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide alternate work locations for individuals with sensitivities. Please check with your supervisor for alternative work options (leave, telecommuting, etc.) during the period painting is scheduled in your office. A schedule will be provided to each organization 3 weeks prior to the start of work to assist in planning and preparation. Contact Malicha Day at 358-0206 with questions.

  • 2007 HQ Honor Awards: The Headquarters Honor Awards Commitee has extended the deadline for the 2007 Headquarters Honor Awards nominations until close of business Friday, June 29, 2007. Due to time constraints and panel meeting schedules, late submissions will not be accepted.

  • Take the HQ Facilities 2007 Customer Satisfaction Survey:
    The Facilities and Administrative Services Division invites all NASA HQ civil service and contractor employees to complete a short online survey that measures customer satisfaction with the physical work environment. To access the survey, visit: http://www.cbesurvey.org/survey/2007/nasa To log in, type in your e-mail address. You may access the survey anytime wherever you have Internet access. All survey information is being compiled and analyzed by the Center for the Built Environment (CBE) at the University of California at Berkeley and will remain confidential.

  • Building Fire Alarm Test: On June 1, 2007, beginning at 1 p.m., a test of the building fire alarm system (Life Safety System) will be conducted at Headquarters. Employees are asked to pay special attention to the flashing strobe lights and public address announcement in their areas to ensure they are working properly.   • 2007 Agency Honor Awards Ceremony: All NASA Headquarters employees are invited to attend the 2007 Agency Honor Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 10, at 1 p.m. in the Auditorium.   • NASA HQ Buyout 2007 Results: The NASA HQ buyout/early out window closed on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. Visit the Buyout 2007 page to learn about the results.

  • New OIA Web Site Is Live! : Visit the Office of Infrastructure & Administration's (OIA's) new Web site at http://oim.hq.nasa.gov/oia . It contains information about OIA's mission, organization, and upcoming events.

  • Ask the Administrator on the InsideNASA Web Site: A new "Ask a Question" feature is now available to NASA employees in the "Administrator's Corner" on the InsideNASA Web site. Employees are invited to use the new online feature to submit a question regarding the agency and its programs to Administrator Griffin. He will see all questions and make every effort to answer as many questions as possible, but time constraints may preclude answering every question. The new feature is part of an effort to improve dialogue and communications within the agency by allowing individual employees across the agency to share their questions and concerns directly with senior management.

  • Introducing the POLARIS Web Site: The Program/Project Online Library and Resource Information System (POLARIS) is a primary reference tool for Program and Project Managers and their support teams, to be used throughout the Program and Project life cycles from inception through implementation, including deployment and final disposition of assets.Visit the POLARIS Web site for more information.

  • HQ Guest Network Changes: In October 2006, the Information Technology and Communications Division (ITCD) simplified the process for HQ Guests to access the Internet. A Web page will be used to authenticate both wired and wireless users to the Guest Network. Usernames and passwords to authenticate at this Web site for 1 day or 2 weeks can be obtained from the Security Office in the West Lobby, the User Resource Center, and the Wireless Network Web site at http://wireless.hq.nasa.gov .  Instructions for accessing the guest network are available at http://guest.hq.nasa.gov/ .
