Don't Miss the Opportunity to Hear First-hand about the New Federal Brownfields Legislation.
The BROWNFIELDS 2002 Conference - Investing in the Future -
will introduce a new and enlarged Brownfields program inspired by
federal legislation signed on January 11, 2002. The Conference will
be November 13-15, 2002 in Charlotte, North Carolina at The Charlotte
Convention Center. The U.S. EPA, The Engineers' Society of Western
Pennsylvania, and the International City/County Management Association
are pleased to invite participants to one of the first opportunities
to learn about the expanded promises and challenges presented by
the new Brownfields law and the policies developed to promote Brownfields
nationwide.
All involved in Brownfields redevelopment will learn firsthand
from the legislative and policy drafters and implementers about
the new directions of federal, state and local programs. Anyone
interested in Brownfields redevelopment including architects, bankers,
developers, environmental/engineering consultants, insurers, investors,
lawyers, planners, students, government representatives, community/neighborhood
residents, tribal officials, researchers, realtors, non-profit organizations,
workforce development specialists, property owners, market analysts,
policy makers will gain from the discussion and networking opportunities
provided at the Brownfields 2002 Conference.
The Brownfields 2002 Program will include panel discussions on
the impact of law and policy as well as best practices developed
to enhance Brownfields redevelopment. These discussions will cover
legal liability, new state local and tribal programs, finance, insurance,
community involvement, land conservation, remediation research and
technology, real estate transactions, and new industrial, residential
and commercial development. There will be programs for every level
of experience from the newly engaged to the seasoned participant.
The cutting edge of every aspect of the Brownfields program will
be covered as well.
Participants will also have opportunities to participate in informal
roundtable discussions in the Marketplace of Ideas, view
examples of Brownfields redevelopment projects through the Poster
Presentations, network with other participants and vendors in
the Brownfields Showcase and Exhibition Center, tour Brownfields
redevelopment projects in the Charlotte Area and hear about progress
at these sites through the Mobile Workshops.
For more details on the conference, visit the Brownfields
2002 Conference website or contact Tracy
Devlin, Brownfields 2002 Project Coordinator.
