Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, February 22,
2007
Before The Nature Conservancy begins its spring prescribed
burns, MWAC Archeologists Bruce Jones, Jay Sturdevant,
and Brennan Dolan traveled to Tallgrass Prarie National
Preserve, Kansas to set up six experimental plots. After
discussions with park staff, two locations were selected
for the plots. On a very sunny day the crew established
plot corners and center points. The trip was also Bruce
Jones’s final official travel as a National Park
Service Archeologist. We wish him well in retirement
- Congratulations Bruce.
