Roux P, Poirot JL, Bravard C, Guerit D, Tourette-Turgis C, Rebillon M; International Conference on AIDS.

Int Conf AIDS. 1993 Jun 6-11; 9: 798 (abstract no. PO-D02-3480).

CISIH Paris Est, France.

On December, 1st 1992, an information day was organized in Paris for school teenagers from 13 to 15 years old, who became reporters for a while to the managers of public health and prevention. TARGETS: Let the teenagers inform themselves about the different aspects of the HIV infection and its stakes. Promote a dialogue on the prevention of the infection with the institutional and associative actors. Let the teenagers become personally informants towards their school friends. METHODS: Thirteen schools delegated a form who took part in this event. Each was divided in small groups, which wrote a report about 6 places. They attended a press conference with someone involved in the National Health Service. They visited a research laboratory in a hospital, a clinical service, an association of fight against AIDS, an association involved in the AIDS prevention for teenagers (STD, contraception ...) and a school health service. Then, all the pupils and the accompanying adults were welcomed by the Minister of Education and Culture in the "Village des Associations", held by the Agency Francaise de Lutte contre le SIDA (A.F.L.S.), where they where involved themselves besides the members of the associations. Later on, each form organized an information meeting for the other pupils of their schools and their parents. RESULTS: This operation gave the opportunity to public institute, private firms and Non Governmental Organisations to become partners. EVALUATION: The evaluation of the knowledge is in progress. Two questionnaires were given in the schools involved in the event, one before and the other one two months later.
