ASHP Foundation Offers Flu Vaccinations at Midyear

The ASHP Foundation and ASHP have joined forces to offer free flu shots to attendees at the 2008 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting. Visit the ASHP Foundation-ASHP Flu Shot Center in the Orange County Convention Center to get your free flu shot. More information about this vaccination program can be found on the ASHP Foundation web site.

 

ASHP Foundation Donor Matching Program Now Through December 31st!

The ASHP Foundation’s Annual Donor Matching Program began November 1st and will continue through December 31st. Thanks to the generosity of the ASHP Foundation Board of Directors, this year’s donor matching sponsor, all gifts made to the Foundation by individual donors now through the end of the calendar year will be matched dollar for dollar. This is a wonderful way to maximize your donor dollars and support your profession.

 

There are three ways to give:

1. Attend the ASHP Foundation’s Donor Matching Reception during the 2008 Midyear Clinical Meeting in Orlando! The reception will take place on Sunday, December 7, from 5:30 – 7 p.m., in The Peabody Hotel, Orlando III.

2. Visit the ASHP Foundation’s exhibit booth #1273 any time during the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting to make a donation.

3. If you are not attending the Midyear Clinical Meeting, complete a donation form and send it to the ASHP Foundation!

 

Foundation-funded researchers will also be on hand to share the results of the work that you have helped to support! Please stop by, join us for a drink, visit with the researchers and renew your commitment to the Foundation. All donations are tax deductible and assist the ASHP Foundation in achieving its mission.

Register Now for the PPRA Consensus Development Conference-Enhancing the Rigor and Utility of Medication Use Research AACP Web site
Registration is now open for the PPRA Conference, which will critically examine methodological issues associated with the conduct of practice relevant medication use research and the translation of such work into more effective and safer patient care. There is no registration fee for attending the meeting. It is recommended that any medication use researchers from pharmacy, medicine, public health, and other disciplines; association and foundation staff members interested in medication use research; corporate research and policy staff; or graduate students and fellows should consider attending this meeting to strengthen this important body of research on practice. New AACP Award for Excellence in Assessment [11/18/08]
AACP invites applications for the
2009 Award for Excellence in Pharm.D. Program-Level Assessment. This award recognizes outstanding Doctor of Pharmacy assessment programs for their progress in developing and applying evidence of outcomes as part of the ongoing evaluation and improvement of pharmacy professional education. Application priority areas will be established each year, however, submissions in other areas of programmatic assessment are welcome. For the 2009 Award, priority will be given to submissions in milestone/progress exams, faculty development and admission plans. in milestone/progress exams, faculty development and admission plans. Winners of this competition will present at the 2009 AACP Meeting and Conference in Boston, Mass. For Award eligibility and criteria visit the AACP Web site.

2009 Innovations in Teaching Competition
AACP invites applications from active and affiliate individual AACP members in the form of course portfolios describing innovative approaches to the teaching/learning or assessment processes in a course, a component of a course, or continuing professional education. The program description and criteria for the Competition is now posted on the

Collaborating Across Borders II–Call for Abstracts
AACP Web site
Collaborating Across Borders II (CAB II) is the second Canada-United States joint conference focusing on an exploration of common issues around interprofessional education and practice. CAB II will facilitate a discussion of interprofessional education, practice and policy in an international context. It will feature best practices, provide evidence that supports efforts, showcase outcomes, describe lessons learned, and provide a venue for scholarly dialogue and productive networking. The meeting will be held in Halifax, Canada, May 20-22, 2009 and will involve numerous concurrent sessions and poster presentations over the three days.
