As
part of our continuing efforts to provide assistance to our grantees,
the Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control will be hosting
a Program Managers' School for all program managers on April 27-28
in Orlando, FL. The PMS begins at 1:30pm on Monday the 27th and
concludes at 3:30pm on Tuesday the 28th. Register
today!
Who
should attend?
All
program managers from all OHHLHC grant programs are encouraged to
attend. New program managers and program managers of newly awarded
2008 grants are required to attend. The Program Managers' School
will focus on key topics of interest to program managers to ensure
the successful implementation of their grant with OHHLHC.
What
to expect?
Each
Program Managers' School addresses current issues and obstacles facing
our grantees. Each year promises to address real-life topics that
our program managers face in implementing their programs. Prior topics
have included:
- Designing Outreach and Recruitment Strategies that Attract Participants
- Effectively Addressing the Need to Relocate Participants
- Overcoming Common Challenges when Managing Sub-Grantees and
Partners
- Developing Methods for Tracking Program Activities
- Ensuring Success in Meeting Financial Requirements
- Building and Maintaining a Contractor Base
- Documenting Income Requirements of Participants
- Conducting Lead Hazard Control in Conjunction with Rehabilitation

provides you the opportunity to network and discuss issues with
veteran grant managers from across the country. Plan to stay for
the Indoor Environmental
Health and Technologies Conference where you'll hear from leading
lead and healthy homes experts from around the country.
Travel
expenses associated with the Program Managers' School are an eligible

The Program Managers' School is a separate event from the Indoor
Environmental Health and Technologies Conference. OHHLHC is working
in partnership with the Conference to provide hotel accommodations,
but you must register for both events separately. To register for
