Join Stephanie Smith from NASA Learning Technologies (LT) at Johnson Space Center for the discussion: NASA Explores Virtual Worlds! NASA LT is pioneering the use of NASA education projects in 3D virtual worlds. This talk and demonstration will introduce educators and students to NASA's work in virtual worlds and showcase the work currently being done at NASA's eEducation Island in Second Life. The resources at NASA eEducation Island may be used in both formal and informal education settings as well as at home. NASA LT is researching 3D virtual worlds as platforms for learning, collaboration, networking and events as part of the NASA eEducation Roadmap. LT is active in virtual world platforms such as Second Life, Teen Second Life, Qwaq, Reaction Grid, OpenSim, OpenLife, Shaspa, OLIVE and Project Wonderland.
