Experimental Real-Time TRMM Multi-Satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA-RT): 3B42RT

This interface is designed for visualization and analysis of the Experimental Real-Time TRMM Multi-Satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA-RT): 3B42RT.
Users can generate plots or ASCII Output for area average (Lat-Lon Map), time series (Time Series), and Hovmoller diagram. The animation is available for Lat-Lon Maps. Selecting here or the Help buttons will open a new window with detailed help. More details about the data are also available.

Data Description

Experimental TRMM Real-Time Multi-Satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA-RT)

Spatial coverage: 60°S - 60°N (Rain data are within 50°S - 50°N;
area beyond that has no data, denoted by fill value -99999.0.)
Spatial resolution: 0.25° x 0.25°
Temporal resolution: 3 hours
Documentations: A brief README
Detailed documentation and programming examples
Data Access: FTP download the original binary data files each containing precipitation, error, and source
FTP download binary data files each containing precipitation only
Data Outages: List of all the missing TMPA-RT files
Note:
TMPA-RT is an experimental product. It is produced quasi-operationally on a best-effort basis at TSDIS, with on-going scientific development by a research team in the GSFC Laboratory for Atmospheres. As such, users are encouraged to report their experiences with the data, and they should expect episodic upgrades or outages as the system develops.
