In 2006, 30.8 percent of the Nation’s full-time law enforcement employees were civilians.
Within the Nations’ cities, 23.2 percent of full-time law enforcement employees were civilians.
The highest average percentages of full-time civilian law enforcement employees were in nonmetropolitan counties (41.1 percent) and metropolitan counties (41.0 percent).
