  • Whites accounted for 82.7 percent of all arrestees in nonmetropolitan counties in 2006. Blacks accounted for 13.7 percent of all arrestees in nonmetropolitan counties, and the remainder of arrestees were of other races.
  • Seventy-four percent of adults arrested for violent crimes in nonmetropolitan counties in 2006 were white.
  • Of adults arrested for property crime in nonmetropolitan counties in 2006, 82.5 percent were white.
  • Of the juveniles arrested in the Nation’s nonmetropolitan counties in 2006, 82.3 percent were white.
  • White juveniles accounted for 71.6 percent of arrestees for violent crime and 83.5 percent of arrestees for property crime in nonmetropolitan counties in 2006.
