  • The number of arrests in nonmetropolitan counties decreased 0.4 percent in 2006 when compared with the 2005 data.
  • Arrests of juveniles in nonmetropolitan counties decreased 1.8 percent, and arrests of adults decreased 0.3 percent.
  • Arrests for violent crimes in nonmetropolitan counties decreased 2.2 percent in 2006. Arrests of juveniles for violent crime decreased 7.6 percent, and arrests of adults for violent crime decreased 1.6 percent when compared with the 2005 data.
  • The number of arrests for property crime in nonmetropolitan counties decreased 3.9 percent in 2006. Arrests of juveniles for property crime decreased 4.8 percent, and arrests of adults for property crime decreased 3.7 percent.
  • Arrests of adults in nonmetropolitan counties for robbery offenses increased 4.0 percent and arrests of juveniles for robbery offenses decreased 18.5 percent.
  • Arrests of juveniles for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter offenses decreased 40.5 percent in nonmetropolitan counties in 2006. Arrests of juveniles for all violent crimes declined 7.6 percent when compared with the 2005 data.
  • The number of juveniles arrested for driving under the influence in nonmetropolitan counties increased 22.4 percent in 2006.
