Fee Waiver Request Sample Letter

Your educational group is welcome to apply for a fee waiver.  The following format must be used.  FEE WAIVER REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON ORIGINAL SCHOOL LETTERHEAD

Dear Superintendent:

(Name of school) requests a waiver of the entrance fee to visit Cabrillo National Monument.

Date of visit: Specify date.

Purpose of visit: State the academic reason for visiting Cabrillo National Monument. The reason must be specifically linked to curriculum requirements, (i.e. course title and learning objective number) in order to qualify for a fee waiver. Simply stating that the visit is for educational purposes does not meet the requirements. Home schools should state the specific subject for which the visit meets their learning objectives (i.e. history, social studies, etc.).

If interested in viewing an auditorium program, please specify desired film title and time (maximum 80 students per auditorium program).

Students/adults 17 or older: State number.

Students 16 or under: State number.

Number of buses: State number.

School group leader: State name and title.

Principal: State school principal name.

School address: Specify.

School phone number: Specify.

School fax #: Specify.

Tour company: Specify if applicable.
