The Cleveland Office in Westlake, OH, promotes a unique Community-Based Environmental Protection effort in the Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio area.

We focus EPA's resources on solving environmental problems. Our office leverages Regional and local resources to bring about responsible community environmental decision-making in the fifteen-county Northeast Ohio area. We work with Region 5 Program Offices to provide direct program implementation in Northeast Ohio and throughout Region 5.

Community-Based Environmental Protection (CBEP)

What is it?

Community-Based Environmental Protection (CBEP) is an approach designed to improve the effectiveness of our nationwide regulations and other environmental programs. CBEP helps EPA get the best environmental results by collaborating with other federal agencies, state and local governments, tribes, businesses, organizations, and individuals to solve environmental problems.

What does it do?

CBEP enables communities to create and take ownership of plans for improving and sustaining the quality of the air, land, and water to achieve a better quality of life.
