Worklife

"To effectively provide quality services, information and support to all members of Team Coast Guard and their families."

Work-Life staffs are charged to plan, develop, and administer programs affecting the well-being of the Coast Guard workforce through family advocacy, employee assistance, crisis intervention, relocation assistance, financial counseling, child and elder care and other human services. This is accomplished through the active employment of a number of services, resources and programs, targeted at prevention of problems and enhancement of quality of life. For the most part, the staff members are not direct providers of Work-Life services, but rather, serve as overseers and as a clearing house, ensuring that the customers receive the services that best meet their needs. The purpose of Work-Life initiatives and programs are to strike a reasonable balance between the needs of the Coast Guard, the needs of the member and their family members’ needs.
