05/05/09 - Governor Quinn Continues Pledge to Fill State Boards
Names five educators, public advocates to Education Funding Advisory Board
CHICAGO – May 5, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn named five educators to the Education Funding Advisory Board. The Education Funding Advisory Board, in consultation with the State Board of Education, makes recommendations to the General Assembly on funding levels for school districts with a high volume of children at or below the poverty level.

05/04/09 - Quinn Administration Announces I-74 Repairs, Funded by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
Stretch of I-74 in Peoria County from Kickapoo area to I-474 to be resurfaced
PEORIA – May 4, 2009. Officials from Governor Pat Quinn’s administration were joined by state and local dignitaries in Peoria County today to announce the beginning of a project along a stretch of Interstate 74 that will create or retain about 120 jobs. The $8 million project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and will repair and resurface the stretch of I-74 from the vicinity of Exit 82/Kickapoo to the vicinity of the I-474 interchange.

04/28/09 - Gov. Quinn proclaims Equal Pay Day in Illinois
Calls on all employers to provide equal pay for equal work as a matter of fairness and good business
CHICAGO –Governor Pat Quinn pledged to continue the fight against gender based wage discrimination in the workplace and designated today as Equal Pay Day in Illinois. Equal Pay Day, originated by the National Committee on Pay Equity, is observed nationwide on a Tuesday in April to emphasize how far into the current year a woman must work, on average, to earn as much as a man earned the previous year.
