THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS BASED ON THE MOST CURRENT DATA PROVIDED TO NOAA. - EVENING REPORT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5TH VALDEZ: Situation: Walker discussed deer & duck sampling for subsistence with ADF&G. Discussed possible overlap of future NMFS sampling efforts with subsistence sites. Arranged meeting in Anchorage on 9/6 with Usha Varanasi & Exxon to discuss future analyses of subsistence samples. ISCC is reviewing and making recommendations on the revised bioremediation application guidelines. This is in response to ADEC's report of problems with bioremediation activities on Knight & Evans Islands. Both USCG and RAT's will be increasing their observations of bioremediation operations over the next two weeks. Discussions were held regarding the transfer of the NOAA operations to Anchorage and Seattle. Estimated departure dates for Seward and Homer will be on or before September 15th, Kodiak and Valdez on or before September 20 -30. KODIAK: (Talbot) Talbot arrived in Kodiak this afternoon and spent the rest of the day reviewing notes from Baxter and getting briefed from the agencies in Kodiak.
