National Resource Center and Foreign Language and Area Studies 
Fellowship Programs; Notice of Technical Assistance Workshop

SUMMARY: The U.S. Department of Education will sponsor a two-day 
technical assistance workshop for colleges and universities interested 
in learning more about the application process for the National 
Resource Center (NRC) and Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship 
(FLAS) Programs. This workshop will be conducted by staff of the Center 
for International Education, Office of Postsecondary Education, U.S. 
Department of Education. The workshop will cover the guidelines 
concerning applications for the expected fall 1996 (FY 1997) 
competition, proposed regulatory changes, and data collection 
techniques for funded centers. The workshop will also offer suggestions 
for preparing applications.
    Dates: April 1-2, 1996.
    Time: 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

    Note: There will be no registration fees. Participants should

from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
