| SUBJECT: | STAFF REQUIREMENTS - SECY-99-129 - EFFECTS OF ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY DEREGULATION ON ELECTRIC GRID RELIABILITY AND REACTOR SAFETY |
The Commission has approved the staff's recommendations: 1) to take no further action to address grid reliability associated with the deregulation issue, and 2) to assure that the licensing basis is maintained by following up on the North American Electric Reliability Council and site visit concerns, risk-based analyses, operating experience, and Accident Sequence Precursor evaluations as noted in the subject paper.
