If you live in excess of 60 miles one way from the court, you have the option to stay at an area hotel while serving jury duty at the Federal Court.  You may choose to stay overnight in Cleveland after calling to confirm if your services are still needed.  Please carefully follow the instructions listed on your “Notice To Report” letter.  This letter contains instructions to call the evening before your service is scheduled to begin, and to listen to a phone recording which will contain your jury group information.

We do not recommend specific hotels, nor do we pay the charges to the hotel for you. All arrangements with the hotel must be made by the juror, including reservations and payment. By bringing your hotel receipt to the jury clerk when reporting for duty, we will indicate that you stayed overnight and will reimburse you a subsistence fee of $133.00 per night for your hotel stay. Your subsistence fee will be included in your jury service check along with your 2 way mileage amount, parking fees paid, turnpike tolls, and attendance fees.

For your information, listed below are area hotels along with their government rates.  Please check the amount of the government rate when calling for your reservations.  Please be advised, the government rate may not be available at all times.  You must mention that you are a Federal juror to obtain the government rate when making your reservations.  If you need proof that you are a juror, please show the reservation clerk your Summons To Report when arriving at the reservation desk.   If you need further proof, we will provide you with an attendance certificate after reporting to the court.
