In 2005, persons under the age of 25 made up 45.9 percent of all those arrested in the Nation's cities for violent crime.
Of all persons arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, 52.6 percent were under the age of 25, as were 46.3 percent of all people arrested for drug abuse violations.
Persons who were under 21 years old made up 31.0 percent of all arrestees nationwide and 46.6 percent of those arrested for robbery.
Juveniles under the age of 15 comprised 5.2 percent of all persons arrested and 31.5 percent of those arrested for arson.
