Throughout the Nation, more than $13 billion dollars of property was reported stolen. One-third of all reported stolen property was recovered.
Among the types of property stolen, locally stolen motor vehicles had the highest percentage of property value recovered at 62.1 percent, and currency had the lowest at 3.3 percent.
Locally stolen motor vehicles accounted for almost $6.2 billion in stolen property.
