In 2005, robberies decreased 1.5 percent compared to data from 5 years ago (2001).
For robberies that occurred on streets and highways, the 2005 figure was 1.9 percent less than the 2001 number.
The number of bank robberies decreased 14.6 percent from 5 years ago (2005 to 2001).
Burglary of residences increased 2.6 percent from the 2001 number.
In 2005, larceny-thefts in the category "purse snatching" increased 8.9 percent compared with the 2001 data. All other categories of larceny-theft decreased in 2005 compared with 2001 estimates. This included a 14.6-percent decrease in bicycles stolen, and a 9.7-percent decrease in thefts from buildings.
