DEC Office	Function	Result
Office of the Director	Has overall responsibility for DEC activities and Department-wide coordination.	Eliminates waste, fraud and abuse in Federal housing programs.
Compliance Division	Carries out HUD's Administrative Sanctions Program through Suspensions and Debarments.	Protects public interest by excluding sanctioned individuals/entities from participation in Government Programs nationwide.
Operations Division	Manages recovery efforts for HUD's high-risk properties, including physical/financial referrals with compliance discrepancies.	Improvement of national distressed housing stock.
DEC Satellite Offices	Carries out day-to-day recovery and enforcement strategies for troubled projects.	Reduces regional inventory of troubled properties and recovers substantial financial losses.
