Keeping Your IDIS Account Active

 Information by State
 Print version

Security Issues
 -   Keeping Your IDIS Account Active
 -   ID and Password Assistance
 -   Separation of Duties

In order to access your IDIS account, you must have an active ID and a valid password. Both must be renewed periodically. The easiest way to keep them active is to log into IDIS at least once a month.

  • If you don't use IDIS for 45 days, your IDIS ID expires on day 46, regardless of how much longer you have before needing to change your password.
  • If you don't use IDIS for 180 days, your IDIS ID is cancelled. If you need to access IDIS after such time, you must re-apply for an IDIS ID.
  • Your IDIS password lasts a maximum 90 days, regardless of how many times you have gone into IDIS during that period.
  • If you discover that your IDIS password has expired, call 202-708-3300, Option 3 to have it reset, or contact the IDIS Help Desk at 877-483-8282.
