The CDFI Fund is used to expand the capacity of financial institutions to provide capital, credit, and financial services in underserved markets. The New Markets program allows tax payers to receive a credit against their federal income tax for making qualifiable investments in Community Development Entitites, which make qualified investments in low-income communities.
