Washington, DC - The Office of Personnel Management has been awarded the "2007 Optimas Award for Service." The award was given for OPM's innovations in combining technology and human services solutions.

Workforce Management, a leading business publication for workforce management and human resources professionals, named OPM as one of its 2007 Optimas Award winners.

Director Springer said, "President George W. Bush has made improvement in the management of human resources through e-Government a priority, and this award is an acknowledgement of our team's dedication to achieving the President's goals. The beneficiaries are the American people."

Now in its 17^th year, the Optimas Awards are presented to companies across the globe in recognition of workforce management initiatives that directly improve business results. 

The "Service Award," one of ten categories, is presented to workforce management leaders who have developed a program to help another constituency within the organization meet its business goals.

Norm Enger, Director of  Human Resources Line of Business (HRLOB) Office of e-Government Initiatives (HRLOB) said, "From the beginning, the HRLOB was envisioned to be more than an information technology project. The objective was to define the entire HR life cycle and define a model that included both technology and services solutions. This vision would have significant impact on policy making and implementation at the Federal government and agency level."

The Optimas Award winners will be spotlighted in the March 26 issue of Workforce Management magazine.
