OPM Announces Revamp of e-Learning Website, Now Known as USALearning.Gov

The e-Training Initiative sets a new direction for the Federal workforce's one-stop source for training and development

Washington, D.C. - The United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the agency that manages the e-Training Initiative component of President George W. Bush's Management Agenda, recently announced the transformation for the Governmentwide e-Learning website, USALearning.gov. Formerly GoLearn.gov, USALearning reflects the e-Training Initiative's commitment to align with other OPM e-Government initiatives (i.e., USAJOBS.gov) and elevate the site to that of a portal environment showcasing learning opportunities across the Federal Government.

"The revamped USALearning.gov reflects our commitment, through the e-Training Initiative, to advancing America's workforce through one-stop access to high quality e-Learning products, tools and services," OPM Director Linda M. Springer said.

Although the governmentwide e-Learning site has a new name, the e-Training Initiative and the e-Training Service Provider Consortium will continue to provide the same high quality services that users came to expect from GoLearn.gov. USALearning.gov has several free resources available to government employees including Books 24X7, which allows users to search and view online titles; Knowledge Now, which lets users search on a particular topic and receive an answer fast; LiveTutor, a toolthat connects users to online mentors; and the Competency Management and Communities of Practice tools which support human capital efforts to train and develop the Federal workforce.

The migration to USALearning.gov is seamless for current GoLearn.gov users. Current GoLearn.gov users can use their same user name and password to access USALearning.

Future additions to USALearning.gov will include a Federal course catalog, providing users the ability to view for purchase across the Federal Government and an analytics server for data collection and aggregated reporting for agency-focused and Governmentwide purposes.
