ROSALIE CAMERON NAMED DEPUTY DIRECTOR
OF OPM COMMUNICATIONS

Washington, D.C.--Rosalie Cameron has been named Deputy Director of Communications by Office of Personnel Management Director Jim King. Joining the agency September 7, she will assist the Director of Communications in managing OPM's public and media information program.

"Rosalie's long involvement in public service and her extensive background in public relations will make her an invaluable asset to the Communications Office," said Director King.

Since February 1992, Ms. Cameron has served in numerous positions on the Clinton-Gore campaign and the presidential transition team. Most recently she was Assistant for Presidential Personnel in the Executive Office of the President.

Prior to joining the campaign in 1992, Ms. Cameron was the Director of Communications and Special Events for the City of Rochester, New York. As Director of Communications she served as the primary spokesperson for the Mayor and the City of Rochester. She arranged an average of 125 news conferences annually, directed marketing and promotional activities for the city, and planned special events such as the Fourth of July and fireworks presentations and the River Festival.

Before her selection as Communications Director in 1990, Ms. Cameron served in a variety of positions for the City of Rochester. She led the Main Street Reconstruction Projects from 1988 to 1990 where she managed and directed major city construction projects with a total budget of $27 million.

Ms. Cameron received her B.A. in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota. She is President Elect of the Rochester Chapter of the American Society for Public Administrators. She is also a member of the Rochester Women's Network and the League of Women Voters.
