SBDC Generates Revenue

  • The NJSBDC program has served more than 270,000 aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners since its inception through counseling and training activities. During the past three years alone, this statewide network has facilitated $197 million in financing (i.e. loans, procurement contracts, etc.).
  • In order to maintain U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) federal funding, a one-to-one match is required from other funding sources. The NJSBDC receives about $2.33 million from SBA. The NJSBDC also raises private contributions and currently receives $800,000 in State funding.
  • SBDCs generate more revenue than they cost. For every $1 dollar invested in SBDC programs nationally, taxpayers receive $2.66 in return.

Funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Additional funding is provided through the Rutgers Business School: Graduate Programs-Newark and New Brunswick.
