NOTE TO EDITORS:
The Joint Working Group of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards and Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste will meet on May 11 in Rockville, Maryland, to discuss risk-informed regulation in the agency's Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards.
Risk-informed regulation focuses resources on areas where potential risks are greater and which have the largest impact on safety.
The meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. until noon in room T-2B3 of the agency's Two White Flint North Building at 11545 Rockville Pike.
