ARCHER DANIELS MIDLAND REACHES SETTLEMENT WITH TTB
We have announced the acceptance of a $3,000,000 Offer-in-Compromise submitted by the Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) to resolve alleged violations of the Internal Revenue Code. The proponent is engaged in business as a distilled spirits plant and an alcohol fuel plant. The Offer-in-Compromise stemmed from ADM's alleged use of spirits in the manufacture of products not for fuel use. In addition, ADM allegedly used undenatured spirits on its bonded premises in a manner not in compliance with the law and regulations.
