Abstract:

The history of X-ray observations of Cygnus-A and how they provide evidence for the existence of a buried quasar are reviewed. Then new results from the ASCA satellite are presented. These demonstrate the existence of an heavily-absorbed X-ray emitting point source coincident with the radio core.
