             NRC SELECTS PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICERS 
             IN HEADQUARTERS AND KING OF PRUSSIA


     The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected public affairs officers for its
headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, and its regional office in King of Prussia,
Pennsylvania.  

     Victor Dricks has been transferred to headquarters to succeed John T. Kopeck, who
will be retiring at the end of this month after a distinguished 21-year career at NRC. 

     Mr. Dricks for the past 18 months has worked at the King of Prussia office, where
he assisted the senior public affairs officer with daily communication of regional events and
activities.  Before joining NRC, he was the science/
medical/environmental reporter for the Phoenix Gazette for 14 years.  

     An honors graduate of New York University with degrees in journalism and
philosophy, Mr. Dricks won numerous awards for his investigative, general and financial
reporting.  

     Neil Sheehan has been hired to succeed Mr. Dricks in the Region I office in King of
Prussia.  He has been an award-winning reporter for 14 years and has extensive experience
covering the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station in New Jersey.  He joins Diane
Screnci, the Senior Public Affairs Officer in Region I.

     Mr. Sheehan was the top general assignment reporter at the Asbury Park Press in
New Jersey, where he has worked for the past four years.  Earlier, he was a senior editor at
the Times Leader in Wilkes Barre, Pennslyvania, and at the Times-Beacon in Manahawkin,
New Jersey.  

     Mr. Sheehan has won many honors for his newspaper reporting. He graduated from
Temple University with a B.A. degree in Journalism, and a minor in urban studies.
