NRC NAMES NEW SENIOR RESIDENT INSPECTOR
AT McGUIRE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have announced the
assignment of Scott Shaeffer as the agency's Senior Resident Inspector at
the McGuire nuclear power plant, located near Huntersville, North Carolina.
He succeeds George Maxwell, the Senior Resident Inspector at the McGuire
plant since 1993.
From 1984 to 1990, Shaeffer was an engineer in the NRC's Region II
office in Atlanta. From 1990 to 1995, he was a resident inspector at the
Sequoyah plant near Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. Most recently, Shaeffer was the
Project Engineer in the Region II office for the Browns Ferry plant in
Alabama. He received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Cincinnati.
Shaeffer officially became the Senior Resident Inspector at the
McGuire plant on July 29, joining NRC Resident Inspectors Garry Harris and
Marvin Sykes. The NRC inspectors at the McGuire plant can be reached at
