NRC STAFF OFFICIALS TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING APRIL 29
TO DISCUSS ISSUES AT MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER STATION
Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff officials will hold a
public meeting April 29 at the Wiscasset Middle School cafeteria,
Wiscasset, Maine, to discuss and answer questions about the Maine
Yankee Atomic Power Station. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
During the first part of the meeting, which will last about
an hour, the NRC representatives will meet with officials from
the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company and the State of Maine for
a technical review of questions about the reliability of a
computer model used in plant safety calculations.
After that initial session, both NRC and state officials
will receive questions and comments from the public. In order
that as many as possible can be heard, participants are asked to
limit comments to five minutes per person.
