NRC REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR TO HOLD NEWS CONFERENCE
IN JACKSON, MISS.
L. Joe Callan, administrator of the Nuclear Regulatory
commission's Region IV, will hold a news conference Thursday,
April 18, in room 417 of the Dr. A.H. McCoy Federal Bldg. in
Jackson. The conference will begin at 2 p.m.
Mr. Callan will brief reporters on contemporary NRC
regulatory activities, including his current view of the Grand
Gulf Nuclear Station and other matters in which the agency is
involved. No special announcement about Grand Gulf is planned,
however regulation of the plant was recently shifted to NRC
Region IV in Arlington, Tex., from Region II in Atlanta.
After his presentation, Mr. Callan will be available to
answer questions. The briefing is one of a series NRC regional
administrators hold periodically throughout the United States.
