International Visitors

Each year, NCPC hosts numerous foreign delegations, providing information on the agency’s work in the capital city and sharing expertise with professionals from a host of other nations. In recent years, NCPC has hosted visitors from Thailand, Korea, Panama, Nigeria, China, and the Republic of Georgia among others.

Topics range from historic preservation to NCPC’s roles and responsibilities to comprehensive planning in the nation’s capital. Groups are often interested in learning about the balance between federal and local interests in Washington, D.C.

Professional outreach to our international colleagues is an agency priority. We host international visitors through the U.S. Department of State, and other programs, and we are active in Capitals Alliance. These important exchanges foster dialogue and serve to promote best practices in planning around the globe.
