International Activities
The National Capital Planning Commission views its work on the international front as a top priority. Members of NCPC's staff maintain close ties with overseas colleagues by participating in the Capitals Alliance. NCPC is founding member of Capitals Alliance, an international forum for senior planners and urban designers in capital cities around the world, which meets periodically to foster information exchange and share best practices in planning for capital cities.
The NCPC staff also is committed to sharing expertise with visiting professionals from countries around the world. Each year, NCPC hosts numerous international visitors, providing information on NCPC’s work in the capital city and learning of the latest trends in other countries.
NCPC also collaborates closely with the Department of State and District of Columbia officials in helping foreign countries find suitable locations for their chanceries to ensure that the city continues to benefit from the presence of foreign missions.
