Thank you for visiting this Web site dedicated to foreclosure prevention! We applaud you for taking the initiative to learn more about this issue, and hope that the information and resources on this site will help you to save the dream of homeownership.

The Save the Dream foreclosure effort in Ohio is uniquely structured to include both governmental and private sector partners each deeply concerned about the foreclosure crisis facing Ohio, and we are working to provide you with the tools to save your dream—the American dream—of owning a home.

We understand that this is an emotional time for you and your family, but it is vital for you to take action. This is no time for delay!

We encourage you to take the following steps to help you stay in your home:

  • Contact your mortgage loan servicer at the first sign that you may have difficulty in making your mortgage payment. Explain your circumstances and ask to participate in a workout resolution. Even if the foreclosure process has started, it is not too late to reach out to your servicer.
  • While working with your servicer, we also urge you to contact a housing counselor—approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development—to discuss your options.

Save the Dream is supported by the Governor's Office, Ohio Department of Development, the Attorney General's Office, the Treasurer's Office, the Supreme Court of Ohio, Ohio Department of Commerce, Ohio Department of Jobs & Family Services, Ohio Housing Finance Agency, the Ohio State Bar Association, various Legal Aid organizations, and housing counseling agencies.
