2009 Fuel Cycle Information Exchange (FCIX)

The 4th Annual Fuel Cycle Information Exchange (FCIX) will be held June 23–25, 2009, at the Two White Flint North headquarters building of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), located at 11545 Rockville Pike (Route 355), in Rockville/North Bethesda, Maryland. Since its inception in 2006, the FCIX has become increasingly popular, with over 220 registered attendees representing government, industry, and other fuel cycle industry stakeholders from the United States and other countries.

The 2009 FCIX will be hosted by the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS), Division of Fuel Cycle Safety and Safeguards (FCSS). This event will provide an opportunity for NRC staff, industry representatives, licensees, and other stakeholders to openly discuss regulatory issues of mutual interest, as they relate to the nuclear fuel cycle (other than uranium recovery, transportation, disposal, and reactor use). For additional detail, please see the following pages and be sure to check back for more information as it becomes available:

In accordance with the NRC's strategic goal of increasing public confidence, the 2009 FCIX is designated as a Category 3 public meeting PDF Icon. This means the public is invited to participate in the information exchange and discuss regulatory issues with the NRC staff by providing comments and asking questions throughout.
