Employees from Siuslaw National Forest celebrated Earth Day by holding the first annual Earth Day forest clean up event by removing trash dumped at various recreations sites across the forest.

April 27, 2009: Marys Peak Road Open
Warmer spring weather conditions have allowed the recreation staff of the Siuslaw National Forest to open the gates leading to the summit at the top of Marys Peak.

April 17, 2009: Siuslaw Resource Advisory Committee Meets to Recommend 2009 Projects
Members of the Siuslaw Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) will meet April 24 in Corvallis to recommend Title II projects for fiscal year 2009 projects.

March 26, 2009: Citizens Sought for Siuslaw Resource Advisory Committee
The Forest Service is seeking people from communities in and around the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon Coast as nominees for five vacancies on the Siuslaw Resource Advisory Committee (RAC). Application forms must be received at the Siuslaw National Forest office by 4:30 p.m. on May 1.

March 26, 2009: Fee Increase at Sand Lake and Hebo Lake
In an effort to improve the facilities and services provided, camping fees have increased at Sand Lake Recreation Area and Hebo Lake Campground.

March 6, 2009: Preliminary Analysis for Siuslaw National Forest Travel Management Project Available Now
A preliminary analysis of the Siuslaw National Forest Travel Management project is now available for a thirty-day public review and comment period ending April 6.

February 4, 2009: Project Deadline for Title II County Payment Projects
Local citizens again have an opportunity to submit applications for funds designed to improve Siuslaw National Forest lands and the rural economies of local counties.

January 15, 2009: Recent Winter Storms Impact Forest Roads and Trees
The storms of the last several weeks resulted in downed trees, slides, and debris on most access routes and roads across the Hebo Ranger District.
