ESTABLISHMENT OF
THE YAMHILL-CARLTON DISTRICT
VITICULTURAL AREA
Washington, D.C.
- The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) published a final
rule in the Federal Register on December 9, 2004 establishing the Yamhill-Carlton
District viticultural area in Yamhill and Washington Counties, Oregon.
The new Yamhill-Carlton District viticultural area is entirely within
the existing Willamette Valley viticultural area. TTB designates viticultural
areas to allow vintners to better describe the origin of their wines
and to allow consumers to better identify wines they may purchase.
This
final rule is effective in 60-days, February 7, 2005.
