Volunteers needed to assist children placed in foster care in Bell, Clay, Lincoln and Knox counties
Volunteers are needed in Bell, Clay, Lincoln and Knox counties to make a difference in the lives of local foster children through participation with the local Citizen Foster Care Review Board. Volunteers review cases of children placed in foster care because of abuse, dependency and neglect to ensure these children are placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. Court of Appeals issues orders in cases involving online gambling, off-duty use of Louisville police vehicles
The Kentucky Court of Appeals issued orders Tuesday, Jan. 20, in Internet gambling cases and in a case about whether Louisville Metro police officers should be charged fees for off-duty use of patrol vehicles. Bilingual court interpreters nationwide invited to forensic science workshop
Bilingual (Spanish-English) interpreters for courts of justice nationwide will have the opportunity to learn forensic investigation vocabulary and techniques to apply in their work by attending a three-day workshop Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Frankfort. The Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts will sponsor the comprehensive workshop titled Forensic Science in the Courtroom, Advanced Criminal Forensics for Spanish Interpreters.
