New Gamma-Ray Burst Smashes Cosmic Distance Record
[04 May 2009] - NASA's Swift satellite and an international team of astronomers have found a gamma-ray burst from a star that died when the universe was only 630 million years old, or less than five percent of its present age. The event, dubbed GRB 090423, is the most distant cosmic explosion ever seen.

NASA'S Fermi Telescope Unveils a Dozen New Pulsars
[22 January 2009] - NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope has discovered 12 new pulsars that emit only gamma rays. In addition, Fermi has detected gamma-ray pulses from 18 others. The finds are transforming our understanding of how these stellar cinders work.
