As a pastor, a parent, and one who works with recovering Alcoholics, I find all advertising of alcoholic beverages objectionable. Advertising presents drinking as a socially acceptable and approved activity. It paints a glamorous picture of alcohol use while totally ignoring the tragedies of alcohol abuse. Slapping a disclaimer about drinking responsibly or not drinking and driving is no more effective than the Surgeon General's warning on cigarrettes. The only effective way to stop alcohol abuse is to stop alcohol advertising..
