As chief of staff for the states' executive branch at the Commission, Ms. George coordinates personnel and other state resources detailed in support of the Governor's role as Co-Chair. She is responsible for ensuring that the state's policies and priorities are represented at each step of the deliberative process by which Commission funding decisions are made. In working to help address rural infrastructure needs, she is committed to improving the quality of life for all residents throughout rural Alaska.

A 30-year Alaskan, Ms. George served as Chief Deputy for the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in Alaska for more than 17 years. In 1999, she was nominated by the U.S. District Court for the Federal Judiciary's National Director's Award for Outstanding Leadership. Prior to her work with the federal courts, she served as Court Attorney and State Trial Court Magistrate for the Third Judicial District.

A graduate of the University of Washington, she received her Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University Law School and holds a Certificate in Professional Mediation from the University Of Washington School Of Law. She is a member of the Alaska Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Alaska and the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. George serves on the Mediation Panel of the Alaska Bar Association and is as well a member of its Standing Committee on Fee Arbitration, and has served as a Bar Examination Tutor for more than 20 years.

In 2008, Ms. George received the Governor's Denali Award Nomination for Leadership for her efforts on behalf of the Newtok Planning Group at the State Department of Commerce.
