Ms. Mariah McNair was born and raised in Sitka, Alaska. She graduated from Colony High School in the Matanuska Valley before heading south to earn a bachelor's degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and a master's degree from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. She recently obtained her certificate in federal grants management from Management Concepts and is pursuing a second master's degree in business administration. Prior to joining the Commission, Mariah was employed as the grants coordinator for the Alaska Association of Conservation Districts.

Mariah handles the creation and management of grants for the transportation, training, energy, economic development, solid waste, and sponsorship progams.
