Products Permits
Firewood Cutting Permits -- A firewood cutting permit and
load tickets are required to cut, gather, and transport firewood.
Christmas Tree Permits -- Christmas tree cutting permits
are available beginning the last week in November.
Mushroom Gathering Permits -- Free use and commercial permits
are available.
Post and Pole Permits -- To cut and haul post and pole materials
for your own personal use.

Special-Use Permits
Snake River Permits for Jet Boaters and Rafters -- Permits
are required year-round for all non-commercial floaters and powerboaters on
the Snake River within
the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area.
Commercial Filming and Photography Permits -- A filming permit may be needed for commercial film and still photography activities on the National Forest.

The purpose of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Commercial Road Rules is to:
- Provide commercial users with timely information about requirements concerning use on
Forest Service managed roads and to administer them uniformly with all commercial
users.
- Provide Forest Officers with a system to display their requirements concerning use on
Forest Service managed roads and to assist in administering them uniformly with all
commercial users.
- Implement a responsive system for issuing permits or other arrangements for authorizing
road use to meet the special needs unique to specific commercial users.
4. To inform other agencies and Forests about requirements concerning use of Wallowa-
Whitman National Forest roads.
