Denali Daniels is responsible for the Commission's Energy Program, which specializes in bulk fuel, power plants and alternative/renewable energy infrastructure in rural Alaska. Previously Ms. Daniels managed the Commission's Health Facility Program for 2.5 years after working for 4 years in a deputy role specializing in behavioral health, domestic violence facility development and elder/teacher housing. Prior to her joining the Commission in 2002, she spent over ten years in policy development, community and public relations in both the public and nonprofit sectors.

Her previous positions include working for the Alaska State Legislature, STAR, the Governor's Council on Disabilities and Commonwealth North. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA) and her Masters of Public Administration (MPA) at UAA. She has served on the board of directors of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, Alaska Center for Rural Health, and the Child Care Connection; and she served as member of the Alaska World Affairs Council, Commonwealth North, the Resource Development Council and the Downtown Rotary Club.
